Microfluidics Metrology System Garners Award for Innovative Advancement in Microfluidics Research and Development Technology
BEAVERTON, Ore., Feb. 2-- Cascade Microtech (Nasdaq: CSCD), a worldwide leader in precise electrical measurements on small structures, today announced it was honored with an Electronic Products' Product of the Year award for its L-Series Microfluidics Metrology System.
The editors of Electronic Products -- a leading trade publication for electronic design engineers -- valuated thousands of products launched in 2005 on the basis of innovative design, significant advancement in technology or application and substantial achievement in price and performance. The L-Series Microfluidics Metrology System demonstrated success in all three categories by enabling researchers to improve the efficiency of test, lowering the time and dollars spent on developing test devices and improving the overall profitability of development.
"MEMS devices based on microfluidics -- the movement of minute amounts of liquids through microchannels -- promise a new era of life-saving diagnostic and drug-delivery systems, as well as new technologies such as advanced liquid-cooled ICs," said Richard Comerford, editor of Electronic Products.

The 2005 Product of the Year awards were announced in the January 2006 issue of Electronic Products with a cover feature and a brief description of each product. 2005 marks the 30th anniversary of Electronic Products' Product of the Year awards, which began recognizing the best products in the industry in 1977.
